David Freyer, Co-Founder and Director

David co-founded myBlueZebra, LLC and pioneered the initial development, fund raising and rollout of myBlueZebra’s first generation platform. Prior to myBlueZebra, David worked at Goldman Sachs in New York as an Associate in their Investment Management Division. His responsibilities included leading several of the firm’s high profile Private Client engagements in North America. David received his MBA from the New York University Stern Graduate School of Business in 2004 and interned at Merrill Lynch in their High Yield Telecom research group analyzing US wireless, wireline and tower companies under the Top Ranked Institutional Investor High Yield Telecom analyst.

David grew up in Sydney and completed his undergraduate degree in Economics at the American University of Paris. He was responsible for founding Connextel immediately after completing his Bachelor’s degree in 1999. Connextel was successfully awarded fixed wireless broadband licenses throughout the six largest cities in Poland.

Andrea Tessitore, Co-Founder and Director

Andrea co-founded myBlueZebra, LLC, working on the initial development, fund raising and rollout of myBlueZebra’s first generation platform. After receiving his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Turin in 1998, Andrea worked for the law firm Moisset in Paris and, from 1999 to 2004, was in private practice, initially with Latham & Watkins in New York and London and later with Gianni Origoni Grippo & Partners in Italy. Andrea has worked extensively on cross-border financing deals as well as on multiple high profile M&A transactions.

Andrea became a member of the European Law Students Association in 1998 and was awarded his Master of Laws LLM from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2001. He was admitted to the New York Bar in 2002 and is a member of the New York State Bar Association.

Andrea is a native Italian speaker and is fluent in English and French.

J. Shelby Bryan, Independent Director

Shelby has been a pioneer in voice communications for twenty five years; first in wireless, both domestic and international, later in integrated voice and data services and currently in business class Voice over Internet Protocol. Shelby previously served as Chairman and CEO of ICG Communications, one of the nation's largest integrated telephone and data companies. ICG delivers voice and internet data services over fiber optic networks and was one of the first companies to envision hosted VoIP services.

Prior to ICG Shelby co-founded Millicom International Cellular S.A. Millicom was granted one of the first two experimental cellular frequencies in the United States and the very first PCS (personal communication systems) frequency in America. Under Shelby’s leadership, Millicom became the world’s largest international cellular company.

Shelby also served on the board of Vodafone UK as a result of his involvement with Racal Electronics.

Shelby received a BA from The University of Texas, a JD from The University of Texas School of Law and an MBA from Harvard University.

Lapo Elkann, Independent Director

Lapo has been the head of brand promotion of Fiat Auto S.p.A and worked in the marketing department of Ferrari S.p.A. and Maserati S.p.A.

He studied International Relations at Guildhal University in London and gained experience at Kissinger Associates as personal assistant to Henry Kissinger.

Lapo is a member of the advisory board of Phillips de Pury & Company, of the foundation “Young Leaders Italia/USA” and of the Rosselli Foundation “Innovative Leadership Community”.

Dr. Richard Freyer, Independent Director

Richard graduated from the University of Sydney Medical School in 1967 and completed his postgraduate Cardiology training at Hammersmith Hospital in London in 1972. He served as the Chief of Medical Staff from 1978 to 1984 at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Australia and was awarded his Masters from the Harvard School of Public Health in 1982. He served as a Director at Coopers & Lybrand WD Scott from 1984 to 1986 in Australia, consulting on a variety of international management projects.

From 1986 until 1996 Richard was Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Matrix Telecommunications Ltd, a public company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange which operated one of the largest private Radio Common Carrier services in Australia. Matrix was sold to BellSouth for AUD30 million in 1988. During that time he was also Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Telecom Messagetech Pty Ltd, a joint venture research and development company between Telecom Australia [Telstra] and Matrix Telecommunications. Richard grew the Matrix Group from a small private Australian operator to a public company with operations in the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Portugal, Poland and Hungary under the “EasyCall” brand.

In 1989 he participated in joint working parties on Telecommunication and Health Services for the Multi Functional Polis Project for the Australian and Japanese Governments. Richard founded Australian Gigahertz Network Pty Ltd in 1996 in order to develop wireless broadband networks throughout South East Asia. In 2000, Richard led a consortium to acquire Cable & Wireless’s stake in Eastern Telecommunications Philippines Inc. He became a Director of Eastern Telecom in November 2000 and was appointed Chairman of Eastern Telecom in January 2001.

Richard is fluent in both English and Polish.

Professor Anat Lechner, Independent Director

Anat is a Clinical Associate Professor of Business Management at the Stern School of Business, New York University. Professor Lechner earned her PhD in Organization Management from Rutgers University in 2000. She is also the recipient of the GE Teaching Excellence award.

Anat’s research focuses on how organizations can best structure to develop innovation capabilities and outcomes. Her research encompasses various areas including the effective leverage of multidisciplinary teams, leading adaptive change, and the development of workplace environments supportive of creativity and innovation.

Her current work looks at the complexities of managing high performance crossfunctional teams, and the ways by which physical workplace environments enable organization subscribers to cope with uncertainty, change, and the demand for increased innovativeness.

Anat is also involved in Management Consulting and Senior Executive Action Learning.
A former Research Fellow at McKinsey & Co. and the founder of a boutique management consulting firm, her client list includes Fortune 500 firms in the Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, Energy, Food, High Tech and Retail industries.

Anat’s teaching portfolio includes a great variety of organization management courses including Managing Change, Managing High Performing Teams, Managing Organizations, Collaboration, and Strategy in the undergraduate, MBA, and Executive MBA programs at the Stern School.
